The Prez Says
How the flies ! Another productive year at your Temple !
Our website is up and running. Please be sure to visit TBH-BA.com. The Board would welcome any feedback or suggestions on content and message.
We recently celebrated our first Bat Mitzvah in years and anxiously anticipate the next Bar Mitzvah in November. Terrific to celebrate these traditional events with youngsters committing to their faith. They are our future leaders to carry on the legacy we and our forefathers have created.
Rabbi Rhoda and the Ritual committee are at work creating a most memorable and meaningful High Holidays services. We will be joined by our traditional musicians to fulfill the spiritual uplifting of the season.
Our Sunday breakfasts are being planned and are expected to be as informative and satisfying as past years. If you have any programs or potential speakers, please reach out to me or any Board member with a referral.
On Sunday, Sepember 7th, we have a unique opportunity to help someone celebrate their family’s legacy. Mordy Greenspun, 95, of Riverstream Living, a NY State retirement home and residential facility, offers a “Golden Dream” opportunity to residents desiring a celebration of their legacy. Morty’s grandfather helped build the Garton Road Schul in the 1890’s. His desire was to visit the building and relive his family’s past. Rabbi Rhoda and I suggested a visit with him on Garton Road followed by a repass at our schul following the visit, for him, his family and caretakers.
I hope you can join us @11:00 am on Garton Road and then come back to our schul for a celebration, that would be sweet and enjoyable and a real mitzvah.
We are blessed to be able to fulfill the needs our guests and Congregants.
B’Shalom,
Jay
